Thanks you for all visits last Sunday.
The weather wasn't so nice and quite windy. It'd been another happy day and good experience. A lot to say but I guess I am speechless for now.

Doll Show Yokohama 24Feb13

Yesterday, I joined Doll Show Yokohama at Marineria, Booth D-18
The event held near by the sea.  After the event I walked along the harbour to get some sea breeze ^^...so freezing cold though.

I got up at 7.30 but felt so dizzy so I left home around 8.20 and arrive event hall just before 10 am

The event was rather small compared to normal Doll show but there were many customers.  I didn't prepare my name card, but I will try to have it done by next event :)

Thanks you for all visits!!.  The middie blythe dress, blythe dress and Momoko dress were sold quite a lot.
For the next 2 weeks before upcoming I Doll in Tokyo, I will be preparing  Middie Blythe, Blythe and Momoko dresses.
I haven't got a clue what will I make yet...may be
something simple, something new, something old (design) :)

For yesterday shopping, I got a new Castle Licca doll and a few small items :)

Happy Day !
Thanks All !

Just started working on new dress for Momoko and Blythe.

Not sure how it will turn out and also how to turn it out yet.
^^

Will continue sewing on Monday.

In progress

Today, I managed to sew a few cotton-linen dresses for MSD, Unoa.
They still need finishing touch though.  The linen fabric for this dress, I got from London,... 6 GBP/ metre...it's bargain in UK though.    The lacey fabric, I just bought from Okadaya.... couldn't remember the price, but it's not cheap at all.

Now, it's time for other dolls sizes...may be for Momoko, may be for Lati, Middie blythe...may be for blythe....haven't really decided.

I got quite a few pieces for fabric I never been used and I really want to use....... but haven't figured out what exactly to be next..^^

Preparing for upcoming doll show

I decided to join doll show Yokohama, held on Sunday 24th Feb 2013.
I am not sure how to get there yet, it's a bit far from my place.

For the last few days, I have been trying to make a new dress set, not really successful yet....but I think I will get at least a set by Friday.... finger crossed.

Fabric shop list

- Marche St. Pierre, at the foot of Sacre Coeur ( at the bottom of the staircase by the merry-go-round) in Montmartre (Metro Abbesses or Barbes-Rochechouart)

"There are several shops in this district, you can go around a block or 2 in any direction and find more places. The most famous are `Dreyfus', and `Reine' which are on the corner across from each other. Its sometimes quite a madhouse, especially at Dreyfus on the ground floor. Dreyfus is grouped by fabric type on each floor and the bargains (such as they are, there are no bargains any more, esp. with the dollar so low) are on the ground floor. You find a person to cut
for you, they write up a ticket for the amount. You take all your tickets and pay at "La Caisse", then go pick up your fabric. This system holds true in a lot of stores in France.

"Off on the side streets are some pretty funky shops. Nowadays seems like a lot of home dec fabrics, and then there are some ethnic fabric suppliers. If you like Dutch-African wax resist batik ( Bouboudima) there are a few guys with those hidden in the back streets. The neighborhood of Barbes has a lot of French Africans. It is sort of the `souk'.

- Bouchara, across from the Galeries Lafayette on the Rue Chausee d'Antin, corner of Blvd. Haussmann. This is the big major fabric store of Paris. A lot of home dec included. Upstairs is apparel and notions, downstairs home dec. You have to look at their lace curtains fabric down there. Also, if you like Toile de Jouy prints, they always have nice selection. There are no deals, but some mouth-watering fabrics, yes..

- La Droguerie, on the rue du Jour, behind Les Halles; very near the Rue Etienne Marcel. ( A very fun neighborhood in any case) This is actually a yarn store, but it has marvelous buttons, ribbons, beads. You have to see it just for inspiration. I reviewed this store on PR, you could have a look to see a photo of the tiny sweaters they make `just for the idea'. If you walk from Place Victoires to the Rue St. Denis on Etienne Marcel you will be in one of the most happening districts of Paris. Don't miss the walking zone on the Rue Montorgueil, its only 2 blocks long, but on the right day at the tight time you will be in the middle of one of the last real food marche' left in Paris. Now its mixed in with chic eateries and boutiques.

- Mokuba, a ribbon store on the Rue Montmartre just around the corner from La Droguerie. This is the Paris outpost of a Japanese ribbon supplier. OMG! You will die. Some of the most amazing things, including strips of fake fur in different widths, flower tapes, stretch velvet, organza, and satin ribbons, brocade, jacquard....all ribbon, all amazing.

-Henri Maupiou, near the Rue Faubourg St. Honore. You had better dress to the teeth when you go here, it is possibly the most upscale store you will ever see for fabric. Prices to match! But worth it just to breathe the air.

- Puces de Vanves, the `other' flea market of Paris, at the Porte de Vanves. Its in the south part of the city, unlike the Marche aux Puces at the Porte de Clignancourt, this one is still sort of impromptu and funky. It is only on Saturday that it is jumping, I'm not even sure that it runs any other day. Get up early and go You could find anything there, from fabric to old patterns, to vintage clothing to teapots and African statues. I love this flea market. I try to arrange my schedule to make sure I have time to go and a free morning. Wear a fanny pack or something where you can keep yo

Shopping yes or no :)

Monday morning, I wanted to go shopping and wandering around fabric shop.
I also realised that I have tons of unused fabric in hand, I 'd better stay home and do some other work.
I went to Yoga class and during the work out, I couldn't stop thinking where should I go later on today.
Anyway, I managed to come  home and make a few tops for Momoko.

I just applied and paid for the upcoming I-Doll event,
so I should start preparing some new sets .....
soon :)

Shopping bag

After yoga class, I went to Okadaya , shinjuku. I got a few pieces of remnants and lace fabric.
It costs around 4500yen altogether. I normally feel guilty every time I spend on something for my hobby. I feel better every time I make something out of it.

I will try and will see :)

Doll show 36

Last sunday, I participated doll show 36, Tokyo.  It was a nice sunshine day.
My booth was on 4th floor (4F-16).  I prepared quite a few sets for Blythe, Momoko, and  UNOA.

The blythe dress set and Momoko dress set that I made for this doll show was sold out.  Thank you for all visits and all customers.
I was so happy to hear they said something about my dresses.  :)

I didn't have much time to do my shopping, (fortunately or unfortunately, I wasn't sure ^^;)
I got a pair of shoes from the booth opposite mine and 2 pair of glasses for Momoko from Sekiguchi booth,...still something, huh?!!

2013年1月20日(日)開催のドールショウ36に参加いたしました。
お買い上げ頂いた方々、お立ち寄り下さった方々。本当にありがとうございました、
It's happy time for me, tired but fun.

I also got a new dolly dolly mag that has got my Momoko dress in the report section.  I was so glad.  It makes me feel happy and give me the power to continue sewing.

I plan to go for the  next I Doll show in March.  Stay tuned!!
